On a stretch of the nearby canal whilst on an SUP board last Autumn I experienced a feeling of complete stillness whilst staring into the very clear, dark water. The fish, plants, weeds and strange looking sponge-like river growth were captivating and all so dazilng whilst coupled with the exquisite reflections of blue sky and puffy clouds and over hanging trees. I painted in layers, using soft oil pastels, acrylic and gold paint to form an impression of my recollections.
They are both on canvas board and framed in a slightly raised position within a hand made inky blue tray frame also adding to the feeling of floating.
