Just Beneath The Surface

On a stretch from the Basingstoke Canal Centre at Mytchett whilst on an SUP board last Autumn I experienced a feeling of complete stillness whilst staring into the very clear yet dark waters below.  I spotted fish, plants, weeds and strange looking sponge-like pond growth whilst noting the exquisite reflections of blue sky and puffy clouds.  It was a lovely memory to hold onto in the Wintery months earlier this year when I finally got round to painting an impression of my recollections.

They are both on canvas board and framed in a slightly raised position within a hand made inky blue tray frame also adding to the feeling of floating.
