Painted in the January of 2023. In these two paintings, on paper, I printed some of my photos in black and white hiding them amongst collage layers of linear printed pattern. I mixed in looping gestural marks, with paint, pens and pastels. I created my personal expression of the good and bad, lost and found feelings that were with me in that month, in monochrome with hints of colour reflecting the time of year. The dullness taking over the faded previous month's abandon, extravagance and array of colour.
